Biodiversity Maps - Help System

Search the wiki

The National Biodiversity Mapping System has been developed by the National Biodiversity Data Centre as a tool for the geographic presentation of observational data on Ireland’s biological data. This is a free service to enable data providers to display their data in association with other biodiversity and environmental datasets.

The display of data on this system fulfils three functions:

  • It makes biological data more widely available,
  • It brings added value to data by aiding in interpretation of distribution information,
  • It optimises the value of biodiversity data to assist conservation and research.
